Welcome to the My Dorm Store Blog

Hi everyone, welcome to the My Dorm Store Blog, the go-to resource for everything related to college/university life! Whether you're a freshman or a returning student, making your dorm into your home is key to starting your year off the right way. To make sure summer doesn't fly by, it's important to start thinking about moving into your dorm now.

Here are some things to start thinking about to make sure you are ready for September:

  • Plan ahead: Start reading about your residence's guidelines and move-in dates. The more you find out about your residence, the more settled you'll feel when you move in! Luckily, we have done the work to find everything you need for your dorm so you don't have to. We have already designed packages that have everything you need to move in!
  • Pack your things smartly: It's hard enough to pack your clothes for a vacation, let alone for school! Find out how much closet space you'll have in your dorm, and be mindful to not overpack. Think about what clothes you'll actually wear every day, like jeans and sweatshirts, and prioritize those over your dressier options.
  • Connect with your roommate: Your roommate is feeling the exact same way you are about starting school! Reach out to them and get to know one another before arriving. Seeing a familiar face on move-in day makes a huge difference.

Moving into your dorm marks the beginning of an exciting journey, filled with unforgettable experiences and lifelong friendships. Planning ahead, packing smartly and connecting with your roommate will prepare you to embrace your new environment and start your school year the right way.

Your dorm room is more than a physical space- it's an opportunity to create a home and embrace the endless possibilities ahead. Welcome to the My Dorm Store Blog, and get excited for what's ahead!
